This is a little crane I made for my friends in Manhattan they have to remove sump pumps on a regular basis, from tanks and pits in the building they manage.
I built this in one night, it was actually after the Super Bowl that I built it. It took me a couple of hours. I broke it down and took it in on the train the next morning.
I had pre-shopped for all the parts. My friend had that "U" channel already rolled and welded, so I grabbed it.
I bought everything else from Home Depot for about fifty bucks. They only had cast couplings not my first choice, I wanted cast steel or forged couplings so I could weld them with steel filler wire. But instead, I used Everdure filler wire on the couplings.
I stole the pulleys cable and winch from a TIG welders water cooling tank we had in the yard.
